Facilitators: Dr Tim Pittaway is a lecturer and postgraduate supervisor in the Department of Agriculture and Game Management, at Nelson Mandela University. He is a graduate of NMMU with a DTech in Agricultural Management and has received Atlas.ti training with the developers from Scientific Software Development GmbH in Germany and is a licensed presenter of Atlas.ti. Dr Janin Vansteenkiste has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and did specialist training in organization and career consulting in the UK. She is the only practitioner of biographical coaching in South Africa, combining organizational development, medical and industrial sociology and biographical counselling. Assisting postgraduates with their qualitative research, to help ensure excellence in their Masters and PhD qualifications, forms part of this.
Target Group: Postgraduates and Emerging Researchers (Novice Qualitative Researchers) - Please note that only 20 participants can be accommodated at this workshop.
Background:The focus of the workshop is on beginner’s methods of coding qualitative data and how to process data using Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Software called Atlas.ti.
