Research Capacity Development

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University graduates are being challenged to reach new heights. Just as the University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Derrick Swartz pushed himself to summit Mount Fuji in Japan to raise more than R1m, so can those who have completed their first degree dare to also take their careers further.

The new Summit Scholarship is open to those honours students (excluding BTech) at NMMU, who are academically deserving and financially needy.

Furthermore, the recipients will be expected to track and share their experiences during their honours year as a means of giving donors and further insights regarding their investment.

Eligibility criteria:

  • South African citizens only
  • Enrol for any Honours qualification in 2016
  • Financially needy
  • Academically deserving (Minimum average of 60%)
  • Levels of co-curricular activities in undergraduate studies

Download the application form from the right of this page and e-mail it to rcd@nmmu.ac.za or submit it to the Department of Research Capacity Development, Main Building, Room 1314, South Campus.
